Why use this at $20 when you can use Property List Editor from the Developer Tools or BBEdit Light, both of which are free?

Defaults Manager CommentaryNot a bad idea... - Version: 1.0 Beta 1.1, 6/17/2003 12:40AM PST

YoBuddy
but still extremely pricey for what it is supposed to do.

Then the developer tries to convince people to spend too much money for it now by advertising "future" features. Not good.

Try this.

Lower the price to $5 or $10. I'd buy it for $5.

As you add more features, raise the version number and the price.

But don't try to justifiy a huge price now for features that aren't even in it yet.

Sure it is much easier than the terminal, but think who will be using such a product. People who need something like this will already be comfortable with the terminal. Grandma will not need this program.

I think it is a good idea to offer a discount for people who puchase this during the beta cycle, but even $17.50 is too much.

Look at unsanity.com. You think someone would rather have 3 of their products (and $5 left over) or this?

Drop it to $5 and you will get all the casual-use "oh what the hell" purchases.

Keep it at $35 and I'll be surprised if you get any.

ncianca, I think it does and will offer quite a bit more than the Terminal. A lot of people aren't Terminal-savvy and this allows you view the defaults for all applications at once as well as the global defaults. Plus you can search for any property or value. Soon you'll be able to backup your defaults and restore them on a per-application basis. And eventually you'll be able to manage the defaults for other users on your system (could be quite handy for people that want to set up multiple accounts with the same preferences).

Plus, right now you can use coupon MACDEVELOPER to get it for 50% off ($17.50). This coupon will be valid until June 17th, so act quick if you want a nice discount.

Defaults Manager CommentaryPricey! - Version: 1.0 Beta 1.1, 6/12/2003 06:44PM PST

This program could be useful but not for $35. I'd pay no more then $10, otherwise there really isn't much value in it versus using defaults in the terminal.

YoBuddy
but no way is it worth $35.

I would probably pay $5 or so for it.
