Platypus CommentaryDownload Link is Wrong - Again - Version: 3.3, 2/25/2006 06:02AM PST

Once again VT have an outdated download link to V3.1
Follow the link to the Developer's site for the correct download.
Come on VT this happens far too often. At least check your links before posting them.

I know nothing about coding. I had a script that I used to run from the Applescript environment whenever required. I opened it in Platypus saved it as standalone drop-able item and i now have a one click solution. Never read any documentation because I never had to....It just worked.

Thank you

Platypus CommentaryUnexpected problem - Version: 2.6, 10/11/2004 10:56PM PST

Platypus looks quite nice to me: the "unexpected problem" is probably just
that you've used a raw "wget" in the script. Try with the full path to wget,
which is probably either /usr/local/bin/wget or /sw/bin/wget (check via
"which wget").

i have a very small bash script that deletes a local file and then uses wget to download the update. if i run the script via the terminal, it works. if i run it via platypus, it does delete the local file but doesn't download the new file.
what am i doing wrong? i didn't see a platypus support site anywhere and can't find the developer's email.

"cd /Library/WebServer/Documents/macosx;
rm -Rf ides.zip;
wget www.sophos.com/downloads/ide/ides.zip;"

Not only is this a great idea and a great implementation, but when I had a problem, the developer responded immediately and fixed it!

If you write scripts, you must have Platypus.

Platypus ReviewGreat! - Version: 2.2, 5/12/2004 01:19PM PST

This app is really great, user-friendly and feature-rich. What I like most: It supports start by dropping file(s) on the generated program. Just imagine what you could do now with your X11 applications - or even with MacDoomLegacy (drop some PWADs on a script that writes "addfile" lines into the config file, and enjoy) !
