Product Description:

OSXplanet is a front-end to the popular program xplanet made in Cocoa and Objective-C. It is in its beta version. It replaces your desktop with a picture of earth showing where it is night and day. It also downloads the latest cloud maps and overlays it with the earth map.

NOTE: If you've installed the custom high quality images from Seth Price prior to version 0.8, you must download a new version of the images due to the changes in the new version.

Make sure you read the README (which is now in the OSXplanet program) and do all the things on it before reporting bugs! As of version 0.74, OSXplanet WILL work with the option "Change Picture" enabled. This also means it could have serious bugs that I overlooked. This version has many new features as a result it may have bugs that I have overseen. Please give me feedback at gabriel@otte.ucsc.edu.

What's new in this version:

Fixed a bug where the wrong day of the week is displayed for the update times. Thanks to David M. Wood for pointing this out to me.
German Localization has been added. Thank you Alexander Klar.
Fixed some bugs dealing with the creation of the image under Jaguar.
Fixed some bugs where OSXplanet couldn't create the image under a normal user.
Fully Compatible With Tiger.

Still Not For Leopard - Version: 1.0.1, 8/4/2008 03:30AM PST

Though OS X 10.5 Intel is listed under Operating System Requirements OSXplanet does not run.
On the OSXplanet Project Main Page the developer says it does not run under Leopard and he is working on a version that will. I enjoyed the product when I ran 10.4 but now running 10.5.2, Version 1.0.1 no longer works.
