OSXplanet CommentaryStill Not For Leopard - Version: 1.0.1, 8/4/2008 03:30AM PST

sounds good
Though OS X 10.5 Intel is listed under Operating System Requirements OSXplanet does not run.
On the OSXplanet Project Main Page the developer says it does not run under Leopard and he is working on a version that will. I enjoyed the product when I ran 10.4 but now running 10.5.2, Version 1.0.1 no longer works.

It was nicer than EarthDesk when it worked, but that was long ago.

OSXplanet Usage TipProblem under 10.5.1? - Version: 1.0.1, 11/19/2007 02:22PM PST

Very nice application I have enjoyed greatly!

It worked fine when I upgraded my iMac G5 to 10.5, then stopped working when I went to 10.5.1.

Upon start-up, the progress bar spins, then quits after a minute or so without updating the Desktop. Deleted app and reinstalled with the same result. Also tried turning off firewall. The preview pane shows the correct image, but it never gets to the Desktop.

Sent to developer, hope it's repairable.

Console log reports:

OSXplanet[589] NSDocumentController Info.plist warning: The values of CFBundleTypeRole entries must be 'Editor', 'Viewer', 'None', or 'Shell'.

OSXplanet[589] unknown stream error code in FTP domain - 425

OSXplanet[589] Something went wrong while downloading Cloud File. Cloud download Failed

OSXplanet ReviewGREAT little app - Version: 1.0.1, 9/29/2007 09:18AM PST

I LOVE IT, it is grate to have planet and moon next to each other on dual monitor. It is good to see a earthquakes and cloud formations on Earth. Easy to use and there are no bugs as far as I can tell.
Keep up a good work...

PS
I love reading some previous comments. If I could I would forbid accesses to computers to people who does not know how to, at least read HELP before trying to use new applications.

I have sent two emails to the developer asking for help to trash this monster but no answer.

Can anyone give me an answer. I've searched all preferences, application support and screen saver folders to trash any associated files without success.

OSXplanet ReviewDumb. Can't turn it off. Can't find controls. - Version: 1.0.1, 6/5/2007 05:54AM PST

I tried it and it gave me preferences to select. After that, those preference options disapeared and I can't find them anywhere. meanwhile, two fixed images of the earth sit on my desktop, doing nothing. I can't get rid of it because I keep getting a message saying it is in use. I changed my desktop in sys prefs, but iI still can't efect or trash the original app. I went to home/Lib/app support/ and trashed the folder. It still won't eject or quit or go away. If this thing had some visable, accesible controls I might be able to appreciate it but I can't find any.

OSXplanet ReviewIts great having the world on my second monitor - Version: 1.0.1, 4/3/2007 07:59AM PST

Works well on DP G5, 10.4.9. I can place the whole Earth on either the left or right widescreen. Can imagine my sister in Capetown either experiencing a sunrise or sunset.
