Better to use a EDI... - Version: 2.1.1, 11/25/2003 03:22PM PST

I haven't installed nor used this program, as I agree with most everyone else here. One can VERY easily make an Encrypted Disk Image, using Apple's free software. Disk Utility comes with both Jaguar & Panther. FerelCat incorrectly mentions that the EDI is fixed size as specified by the user. You can point Disk Utility at a folder, and it will then encrypt that folder, and then compress it, so that it doesn't waste any valuable disc space. Moreover, if you're using Panther, you can then do a Secure empty trash to delete the file. The other nice thing about EDI is that you can share it with others, via FTP, email, etc. without them having to use any special software on their end. It is true that the password is added to the Keychain, but using Keychain Manager, one can delete that key, and then be prompted for a password with each decryption.
Once the preferences have been optimized, one double click on the database file in the SafeFile window decrypts it, places it on the desktop and opens it with its application.
Dragging the icon on the SafeFile window after usage encrypts it and shreds the decryped file.
It cannot be simpler, perfectly designed tool!
