Product Description:

The Missing Sync for Palm OS v4 is a modern replacement for PalmSource's aging HotSync Manager. Not only does The Missing Sync support existing conduits, such as Apple's iSync Conduit and Microsoft's Entourage Conduit, but it provides many new features above and beyond anything previously available for the Mac (or even Windows). New features include conduit profiles, Wi-Fi/AirPort sync, a sync reminder and much more. And all the Missing Sync favorites, like iTunes and iPhoto integration and desktop mounting, are there, too. It's time to say goodbye to outdated sync software and get The Missing Sync!

What's new in this version:

  • Addressed issue where certain palmOne conduits were making calls to the SyncManager when they weren't supposed to causing the UI to hang
  • Hid .pkg extension and .rtf extensions for various files
  • Addressed issue where sometimes Internet Sharing would not work under Tiger
  • Addressed issue where FirstClass conduits did not load
  • Addressed issue where mounting and the iPhoto plugin would fail under Tiger

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.3.9
  • Mac OS X 10.3

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2.8 or higher (10.3.7 or later recommended).

Missing Sync for Palm OS CommentaryI gave up on this. - Version: 6.0.3, 9/27/2009 07:56AM PST

It worked OK for a couple of years, but got progressively less functional as it failed to keep up with OS updates. I finally abandoned it in favor of iSync which works very well and has a much less confusing interface.

If you look at the Missing Sync software update page, it says this is not compatible with Snow Leopard. When I installed it, I had to reboot twice to make it sync properly. Still quirky. But I like my Palm Treo and won't replace the phone until it totally dies. DO read the installation notes and back up your address book and calendar. Just in case.

Marginally successful on my new Palm Pre. Copied my address book but not iCal (I seem to have duplicate calendars?)
Does not copy Now Up to Date, my beloved calendar program (Not the dastardly useless "NightHawk"). The old Missing Sync copies NUD to my Palm Tungsten beautifully. Oh well, maybe in couple of years when I have moved onto another phone they will get this one right.
