Product Description:

Ok, so your mobile network support representative seems like a nice guy. But do you really want to spend hours on the phone trying to get your mobile phone to work with your Mac OS system? And more hours on the Internet to find any working modemscript, configuration files and more?

We think not. And developed Mobile High Speed - a software which has already stored all information needed to go online with most mobile network carriers and most mobile phones by SonyEricsson, Motorola, Nokia and Siemens as well as with many PC Card modems.

Thus, it can completely configure your Mac OS system to use a UMTS/EDGE/ GPRS online connection provided by your mobile network carrier. And it supports the everywhere-to-be-used GSM protocol as well, allowing a fast switch between all protocols if necessary.

For all the specialists out there: you can use Mobile High Speed to feature a dedicated V.32, V.34, V.110 and V.120 connection.

But for most users it will just connect the Mac to the Internet with no pain of finding APN number, UMTS/ EDGE/ GPRS parameters and modem scripts. Period. Sorry for the nice mobile network support representative!

Mobile High Speed 3G CommentaryAbout Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Version: 1.8.8.6, 9/1/2009 11:10AM PST

Jan Fuellemann
Hello there.

Thank you for your comments. As you may know, launch2net relies on the modem drivers of several modem manufacturers to "talk" to the modems and make the online experience as best as possible.

Now, as 10.6 compatible modem drivers are not available at the moment, we can not issue a 10.6 compatible update immediately. This does not only affect us, but in general many drivers have to be updated to work with 10.6.

We have stated this on our website as soon as 10.6 was able to be purchased and we are sorry for any inconvenience the lack of modem drivers have caused us all.

Then, there seems to be a slight misunderstanding about the way launch2net helps you to go online. launch2net is not a collection of modem scripts, but a full-featured Internet connection manager. Besides the ability to automatically recognize your device and network information, it will use the right connection settings even in foreign countries. As you know, using your SIM card for online connections abroad is quite expensive due to the roaming costs. With launch2net, you can use e.g. a PrePaid card in foreign countries to connect as easy as at home without the need to call the foreign language support team.

In addition, launch2net keeps track of the online time and data usage. So you can have launch2net quit a connection if a certain limit has been reached. Or check the statistics any time. Furthermore launch2net can autostart a connection, work in the backgound, connect and disconnect using only a menu-bar item without the need to open the application and more.

This is the difference to a mere modem script and it can save you hundreds of dollars roaming costs and much time otherwise spent talking to a network support team.

Kind regards,

Jan Fuellemann (nova media)

This cant be. A collection of a couple of scripts that cost more than an entire OS like Snow Leopard ?

It does now work at all on Snow Leopard, no answer from support, no mention on their website of it. While most share and even freeware developers have adjusted their software to run on Snow Leopard. And this is supposed to be a tool for business.

Plus, there are much nicer and better alternatives, like webtogo.de, or the respective software from your carrier, and even for free.

What a mistake to give them my money.
