Product Description:

Untar is a wrapper application which acts as the front end to a variety of UNIX utilities, such as 7za, tar, gzip, bzip2, rar, and zip. Untar is able to uncompress files in.7z, .tar, .tar.gz, .tgz, .tar.z, .z, .gz, .svgz .Z, .tar.Z, .taz, .tar.bz, .tar.bz2, .tbz, .tbz2, .bz, .bz2, .rar, and .zip formats. Source code and project are included.

What's new in this version:

  • Now open source under the GPL license.
  • Added French localization.
  • Added Traditional Chinese localization.
  • Updated Help files.
  • Fixed a potential problem with extracting from 7z files.
  • Archives will now extract the files into their own containing folder.

Tool wrappers like this is what a GUI addict needs, especially for rather exotic formats like 7z. The utility works without any problem. Thanks a lot!
