Icon Arranger CommentarySo what exactly does this app do? - Version: 2.5, 3/28/2008 11:37PM PST

The author must be trying to win some "describe this product in 25 words or less" contest. Trouble is, the 25 words used don't provide a single clue as to what this package actually does. take this snippet: "...used to arrange Mac OS X Finder icons in their containing windows..." What does that mean to anyone? The accompanying screenshot hardly addresses "icons" so one has to wonder how exactly and why they need to be arranged in ways that differ from the Finder's View > Clean Up Selection or View > Keep Arranged By... menu commands.

How about a before and after screenshot that visually shows what's happening and how it will benefit us users?

FolderControl does this and much more and is easier to use.

I got this to work, but I'm not sure what it did.

Nice and cheap though.

unfortunately the desktop isn't scriptable - if it was someone would have done this long ago
