I had some corrupted pics in iPhoto since my previous back-up - using TextEdit to compare them with readable files it was clear that the header info was missing. This little app salvaged the original, deleted files from my camera's CF card with absolutely no trouble at all.
Thank you
Thank you

I was assigned to recover pictures from my mother's SD card, which she accidentally deleted. There were some important pictures in there, so I was even willing to pay for a shareware. I went to versiontracker, looked around goole, and came down to 3 apps to try. They are MediaRECOVER, Photorescue Wizard, and Exif Untrasher. Exif Untrasher is the only freeware. The other two will cost you $29, but has a trial [teaser] mode where they'll the apps will show you what pictures it can recover. To recover the files you must pay for the app.
In the end, I think MediaRECOVER and Photorescue came back with just a few more files (out of 147 or so) than Exif Untrasher. The few missing files didn't seem very important; certainly not worth $29 extra. I hope I'll never have to use an app like this again, but if I do, I know Exif Untrasher is a great freeware for the task.

Very simple to use.
