Security Services ReviewUses up my free space - Version: 1.1.5, 9/12/2005 10:36AM PST

Isoruku
I'm confused about Security Services. Twice now, I've run it to encrypt ("write over") my HD's free space. (I've also used it successfully to encrypt files.) But both times, it has eaten up all the free space on my hard drive. That is, when finished, my Mac reports that I've gone from let's say, 18 gigs of free space to only a few MBs. That's alarming, since if it ever goes to zero, I won't be able to boot up without doing it from a CD, Now, maybe this is normal; maybe Security Services is supposed to routinely use up all available free space prior to the user re-booting. The first time this happened, I spent hours optimizing on TechTool to get my free space back. Maybe that was unnecessary - maybe the HD reclaims all the free space on re-booting. But I've e-mailed Security Services about this three times in the last two weeks with no response, despite the fact that I'm a paid customer. Maybe I'm rather stupid - maybe the answer to my query is obvious. But I'd really like a reply.

Have used this app very successfully until Mac Tiger OS V10.4.1. Not sure if this app works with Tiger OS and have not been able to use after upgrading to MacOS Tiger. Have not been able to confirm compatibility with tech support.

Security Services Commentaryworks great but a problem with Services - Version: 1.1.2, 6/4/2004 06:43PM PST

For some reason, SecurityServices shows up intermittently in the [FrontApp]:Services menu list. I've had this problem in both 10.3.3 and 10.3.4 on a 17" 1.25GHz imac.

Otherwise no problems--haven't seen any crashes or difficulties with previously opened archives as others mentioned.
