Product Description:

With an adapter, the Xbox controller (and other Xbox peripherals) can be plugged into a PC or Mac's USB port. However, the Xbox controller is not HID-compatible, so it is not usable by games or applications without a special driver. For some time, these drivers have been available for Windows and Linux. This driver is the first to support the XBox controller on Mac OS X.

This software installs a kernel extension (driver) that turns the Xbox Gamepad into first-class HID citizen. Translation: it will work with any Mac OS X game/application that supports gamepads, including GamePad Companion and SimpleSoft's XGamePad software.

The full source code is also provided on the project website.

Xbox HID Driver Troubleshooting ReportIssue in 10.3.7 - Version: 1.3, 1/2/2005 08:00AM PST

Echo101
Installing this on my iBook G4 under Mac OS X 10.3.7 caused some weird behavior with the menu bar. Items in the menu bar no longer seem to detect the mouse moving over them. It still works if you click and hold the mouse button down but not if you just click. When you just click a menu bar item the menu items don't get highlighted and submenu's don't open. After disabling the startup item and restarting the menu bar is back to its old behavior.

Other than this very annoying system wide bug the product works good.
