Televio: Watch TV - Listen To radio - Remote Included

Televio is the only product available that enhances Apple PowerMac computers with a full size and high grade TV picture, stereo FM radio and TV audio and a IR remote that controls all Mac applications.

The 125 channel TV-Tuner and the 9-bit Philips ADC stream a crystal-clear TV video with full size and full framerate. The stereo TV sound is decoded by 2 x 16-bit 32 MHZ audio ADC. The integrated IR remote is able to send key events to every Mac application.

A software only version of Televio is also available. You can use it in conjunction with some PCI-TV-cards from other vendors with the Philips SAA713x chip (no bt878).

What's new in this version:

  • Televio Channel Assistant
    • You could use the Channel Assistant to set your local channel lineup instead of a channel scan and entering the station name manually.
    Currently the Channel Assistant only works in the U.S. We are looking for possibilities to extend that to other countries. Until then the menu option to start the Channel Assistant is only shown in the English localized version of Televio.
    The Televio Channel Assistant is compatible with Mac OS X 10.2 and up and requires Safari to be installed.
  • Support For Second PCI Card
    • Televio 1.7 has driver level support for second PCI card. If you want to use more than one PCI card in the same Macintosh you need to install support for the second card.
    Please note that application level support for the second card is limited. The installer installs Televio2, a version of Televio that could be used in parallel with Televio. They share the same preferences and registration files and could be set to display the two cards in two different TV windows.
    Of yourse you could use third-party applications to get the most out of your second card.
  • Televio Command Line Tool
    • You could use TelevioSetTuner to set the tuner without the Televio application running. Please see the man page for detailed info.
  • Gamma Value Changed
    • We changed the gamma value of the video to get the color more crisp and clear.
  • TV Picture Ratio Changed
    • We have changed the TV picture ratio. The standard size for NTSC is unchanged with 640 x 480, but we changed the diplayed picture area. The new standard size for PAL is 752 x 768.
  • Recording Bug Fixed
    • Televio 1.6.4 introduced a bug the prevented recording if you entered a value into the "Frames per second" edit field in the Video dialog. This field can also be left empty for "Best" framerate.
    As a caveat we had to drop support for iChat using Televio as a "camera". We hope to get that back soon. Of course using iChat with other cameras still works.
  • No More Kernel Panics
    • We have found a bug in Mac OS X that could lead to a Kernel Panic. We worked around that bug.

Registered Televio users can now download and register (using your Televio serial) the AlchemyTV and associated DVR app's. This means you get access to the Alchemy PVR functions which sync with iCal and make scheduled recordings.

Very cool...

Nach einem neuen installieren der letzten Version (1.7.1) unter Panther X.3.2 meldet mir das Proggi, dass die SN falsch sei und ich eine richtige eingeben soll. Ja nur welche?
Ich suchte die gemailte Registrierung von 2002 raus und überprüfte alle meine angegebenen Daten. Alles korrekt so weit. Aber warum akzeptiert Televio meine SN nicht mehr? Würde mich mal interessieren. Oder liegt es an Panther selbst?
Ansonsten scheint das Programm ja zu laufen. Jedenfalls bis zum nächsten Demo-Screen.
