Passwords Plus CommentaryBroken Software - Version: Leopard Patches, 4/27/2008 04:16PM PST

Password Plus seemed to work pretty well with 10.4 and my Palm. Unfortunately, with 10.5 everything fell apart. After a nightmare with tech support, a lot of downloading, patching, deleting preference files I managed to get the app running again but the database (and strangely all backups) were corrupted so I had to start over from scratch. Now, a month later, the application crashed upon login again. I give up. No more Dataviz software. Too buggy and dataviz is no help. You'd think they would release a version that works on 10.5 and not require special patches. I guess it doesn't fit with their subscription to download software you purchased from them model.

Did I say no more Dataviz software?

Passwords Plus CommentaryToo little too late - Version: Leopard Patches, 1/2/2008 03:05AM PST

I contacted DataViz several times and NEVER received a reply for help when PP wouldn't work in Leopard, heck even before that I had asked for more features and more updates prior to Leopard. On another's recommendation I switched to Data Guardian. Initially it felt weird/different then PP, but once I imported all of my PP data (booting to Tiger drive, exporting data from PP, massaging the data until I could get it to import to DG ... blah, long gross story) I now am very happy with DG and I am glad of being forced to switch. Bye DataViz may your company RIP on the Mac.

Passwords Plus ReviewVery handy program. - Version: 1.0.0.6, 12/31/2007 09:07AM PST

I've used Passwords Plus almost every day for several years. It is running on my iMac at home, and on my Palm Zire 71 for access from my office or elsewhere. Part of my routine is to use the Palm's HotSync feature to synchronize every time I recharge, so the two databases are kept in sync (I can make additions or changes on either platform, and they get transferred automatically to the other).
