Bee Docs Timeline 3D ReviewThis Is Perfect for Making Timelines - Version: 2.9.3, 10/27/2009 07:36PM PST

Thucydides
This makes timelines and it couldn't do it more easily. I wasn't in the mood to create a timeline in Word or Pages, so I downloaded the demo to give it a try. I then helped my daughter make a timeline for her 8th-grade English report, printed it, purchased the license in order to eliminate the water-mark, and printed it again. I was amazed at how simple it was to use and how elegant the resulting timeline looked.

One obvious feature that is missing is the ability to scale the timeline to a specific size to fit a maximum number of pages (say, if you want the timeline on a single page) -- you have to export to a PDF and then scale the PDF.

It's a bit pricey, maybe, but so what? It saved me at least an hour of screwing around with Word or Pages to make a timeline and gave me a higher quality, more easily editable and correctable product than either.

i downloaded this thinking it looked & sounded like what i needed & i figured i'd rustle up the money if i coudl try it out enough to make sure i could use it... but the app won't even open! i keep getting a popup asking me to register or continue the free trial, but no app shows as being open in the dock, and no app appears!!! so how can i try it out to see if it even works? i can't even open it enough to find out what the terms of the trial are! Bee Docs Timeline 3D ReviewSo far, so good - Version: 2.4, 1/31/2009 07:50PM PST

I needed something to do a timeline for a fairly important presentation and I happened to look at VersionTracker for a solution. I found Bee Docs Timeline. Figuring it out was pretty easy, though it wasn't clear that to save any new entry, you had to "click" out of the data form. Once I had that down, it was clear sailing.

The only recommendations I'd have at this point are to have the developer consider putting a "Done" or "Ok" button on the data form (or make it easier to understand how to save the entry), and something that would allow you to warn you when you're about to make your timeline way too many pages to print.

Other than those two suggestions, it's the best way I've found to create timelines. The kids are even using it for their junior high school projects, so how hard can it be?
