ok now the problem is that my comp wont load the internet servers or get customer support or anything concerning the internet.i have already put in my email and all that boring crap and it still wont connect.so i'm tryin to figure out wats wrong but i cant seem to.... if u know plz post back.....p.s. aside from my minor problem.... i love this game and would(and have)recommend it to all my friends.again plz post if u know wats wrong with my p.o.s. comp thx -----a fellow player

One of the best games I have ever played,great graphics,weapons,maps,all that good stuff.This game even has a built in irc client.What more could you want?I highly recommend this game,I guarantee you will be stuck on it.

Yeah, I had no problem on my G4 933 running Panther.... but on my spanky new G5 2.5... Noooooo worky worky! :( I have written tech support to see if there was a fix/patch - anything. I haven't heard back yet. If/when they get back to me, I will post here.

i tried deleting those files like phantom said and there were 4 of them. I went to launch the game and the same thing happened where the "splash" screen came up and then went away and quit. I'm running g3 400 mhz pismo PB os x panther. Please help!

i read phantom's post, but it still doesn't run. I tried launching UNREAL and it just doesnt open the game. It reads then stops. Can anyone help me!

I have a G4 dual, OSX 10.3 with a gig of ram and an upgraded graphic card ATI radeon 9000.
The program will not install.
It say I need to have system 10.2

UT2k4 OK, but not without problems

For some reason VT decided that 2k4 was just the next version of 2k3, This review is for the 2k4 Demo.
First, a bunch of people confirm the UT2k3 color bug on certain hardware (including mine, X 10.3.2, Radeon 9000). Also there is a problem with the sound system and channel separation.
The game itself is quite a bit more demanding than 2k3, especially on the onslaught map with vehicles. The variety of weapons is great, including the spider launcher and AVRil rockets. However, vehicles are a mixed bag. The raptor fighter is awesome, with its homing missiles, and the energy turrets are cool. Problem is handling is inconsistent... the jeep turns with the keyboard (horrible) but the raptor turn with the mouse halo-style. Speaking of halo, the vehicles definitely lack the 'weight' and physics of halo vehicles, for example you must apply thrust to keep up the banshee or it tends to drop by gravity, but the raptor hovers perfectly still.

Works great for me - so stop complainin! Bloody brilliant game runs silky smooth on my PowerBook G4 1.25Ghz (still like to fire up the original though for the sniper rifle!).

I had this problem. Then I decided to create a new OS X user, run UT2003 and see exactly which files it creates by doing a Find File for files updated today.
I deleted those files on my original user and UT2003 now works!! The files are all in ~/Library/Application Support/Unreal Tournament 2003/
Warning, your savegames are in there, you might want to do a move instead of a delete. Try it!

Since the makers of this patch obviously dont care about you enough to advise you, I am doing it for them. This patch has a 90+ percent chance of messing up your game and wasting hours of your time to reinstall... and that is only if your are saavy enough to find all the old prefs hidden in your system and delete them.... I spoke with them (Greg Grimes at MacSoft Tech Support back on 11/18/03) and he said he would take the 5 minutes it takes to put a note on their site that the patch WILL DAMAGE YOUR GAMEPLAY IF YOU PLAY CUSTOM MAPS ON ANY SERVERS and I have the email to prove it. They never did that and it is 2 weeks later. So, because I care about my fellow mac people more than this company that is taking our money and wasting our time, I am telling you. DO NOT INSTALL THIS PATCH UNTIL THEY RELEASE THE FIX. I was told it would be out "soon" over a month ago so dont cross your fingers, as they obviously dont have 2 minutes to spend on you and write this themselves or take the patch down. I love the game, as I am sure you do too, but do not use this patch, and please take the time to complain to them about this issue and the fact that they are wasting your time directly at support@macsoftgames.com
