Product Description:

DiskWarrior is the safest, the most technologically advanced, and the most powerful utility to prevent and eliminate directory damage available for any computer. DiskWarrior uses a different approach to disk directory repair than other programs. DiskWarrior is not a disk repair program in the conventional sense. Instead of patching the original directory, it uses a patent-pending technology to quickly build a new replacement directory using data recovered from the original directory, thereby recovering files and folders that you thought were lost and that no other program could recover.

What's new in this version:

Allows DiskWarrior to run when started up from Mac OS X 10.2.1 or higher, including Mac OS X 10.3.x. The updated version also offers a speed increase over DiskWarrior 3.0, which itself offers a significant speed increase versus DiskWarrior 2.1. With version 3.0.1, DiskWarrior now supports volumes larger than 2 terabytes.

In conjunction with the update, Alsoft has also released the DiskWarrior CD Update 3.0.1. Customers with DiskWarrior 3.0 can use this free update to create and burn a new DiskWarrior CD containing the updated application. In order to create a new DiskWarrior CD, a user must have an administrator name and password, the original DiskWarrior 3.0 CD, 650 MB of free disk space, and a blank CD-R disc.

If you own a Mac released after August 2003, or do not have access to a CD burner, you will need to order an updated CD from Alsoft in order to start up your Mac. (These models include Power Mac G5 machines, PowerBook and iMac models released September 2003 or later, eMac 1 GHz G4 machines, or the iBook G4.) The updated CD includes DiskWarrior 3.0.1 and will start up from Mac OS X 10.3.2 (Panther). This updater only updates the copy of DiskWarrior on the new CD, not the Mac OS itself.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3.9
  • Mac OS X 10.3

DiskWarrior X CommentaryPOOR - Version: 4.2, 11/13/2009 07:25AM PST

I have used DiskWarrior for years and found it to be a good product. My ‘new’ version 4.2 does not boot with OS 10.6 ! Developer was sent [upon there request]screen shots but then did not respond. Maybe because this was a “free” upgrade form 4.1 that was purchased. Anyway burned the 4.2 twice and still no luck. OH. Well another developer to stay away from. They will get there money and be another C&G -some will know that name.

My email to Alsoft Support:

Dear Support,

Can the updated Disk Warrior program 4.2 safely repair the 10.5.8
version of the Mac OS? Or do I need to use DW v4.1.1 on Leopard?

Charles
