SubRosaSoft Encryptor Commentarynot JUST proprietary encryption - Version: 2.01, 5/19/2003 06:34AM PST

SubRosaSoft management

SubRosaSoft Encryptor also contains Blowfish encryption which is a secure, peer reviewed, open source encryption system. It uses at its heart a proprietary encryption system but the user can at all times choose which cypher they would like to trust.

Symmetrical keys (as opposed to the PGP public key system) are a more convenient password system. The intention of this program (now in public release, sold and supported for more than 1 year) is to create a friendly, easy to use, strong encryption platform that does not require the user to be fully conversant with advanced encrytion concepts.

SubRosaSoft Encryptor CommentaryBetter to use PGP - Version: 2.0, 5/6/2003 03:38AM PST

You are better off using PGP, which can use public keys and is therefore much more secure for exchanging sensitive information. Or if you want to encrypt just for yourself to stop prying eyes from reading your files, use an encrypted disk image, which Disk Copy can create. Never, ever, trust a proprietory encryption method unless it has been published and peer reviewed.
