PHPmyGallery ReviewGreat script, great developer! - Version: 1.0b2, 10/12/2004 04:26PM PST

Easy kids! I think the important thing is that you can use this in conjonction with other software. For example, I use iPhoto for all my digital picture needs, and use PHPmyGallery to put them up on the web *AUTOMATICALLY*. This is by far the most flexible script I have used so far, and it automates the whole process. The templates are fully customizable so it looks as if my visitors have never left my site because the galleries blend in so well.

As for the author, when I suggested iPhoto intergration of some kind, he was very responsive and worked with me to make it happen. Kudos, we need more developers like this in our community.

And maybe less people that leave un-constructive comments such as "VT should post this somewhere else"... You know what? There is a feedback link so that you can tell these guys DIRECTLY about your opinions on their handling of this site. If you're not going to review the software, then restrain yourself and click the "Contact Us" link.

My two cents!

PHPmyGallery CommentaryKIDS, PLAY NICE NOW! - Version: 1.0b2, 9/13/2004 08:29PM PST

No one said it was bad or less valuable because there should be a separate section for scripts. And no one really is impressed that you know how to run PHP scripts on your box. I'm sure the simple point was that this script is under the Mac OS X header which one would assume is an OS X executable. Since this script is written in PHP doesn't make it Mac OS-only software, PHP runs rather well on Windows, IRIX, AS/400, (Apache), etc. which means that this script could run on many platforms. Anyway, it would be really nice if VersionTracker actually added more platforms, o.e. PHP, Perl, Javascript, PocketPC, etc. I would gladly pay for VersionTracker's magic managing these additions. Think of it as a constructive criticism and be a man and apologize for attacking Luhmann.

So anyway, Peter Krebs, the developer is just an awesome guy to share his talents for free. Please send him some bucks so he continues to provide us with these wonderful Web tools.

VT does NOT need a separate area for this... This runs on my Mac no problem at all. Just because it's not directly an executable binary application does not make it any less valuable to the community. I am glad I can find these items here WITH valuable feedback about them.
