eMailerX ReviewAnother legitimate user... - Version: 2.8.1, 1/19/2004 02:17AM PST

I am a musician that handles several different mail lists for different parts of the country that we play, NOT a spammer. I use it to extract email addresses from email I recieve requesting notices of our play dates, and to send a newsletter regarding upcoming performances. I find this program to be useful and it does what it says it does. I also take issue with all the comments here that are not reviews, but simply angry venting of people frustrated with spam. This developer has been responsive, polite, and obviously committed to improving his product.
To all of you who left poor ratings about this program without actually using it, and bash it, you are no better than the spammers you hate. You're dishonest. Shame on you. This is a forum for REVIEWING SOFTWARE. Not a place to rant about spam.
One bug note: This seems to have a problem recognizing underscores as part of an email address, and it sometimes chops off the address at the underscore.
Otherwise a very useful tool.

I manage the creation and sending of email newsletters for a number of clients and this is a very useful tool. The list management capabilities pick up where Maxbulk Emailer leaves off. I don't spam, I send quarterly newsletters to thousands of people that make up my clients' customer mailing lists.

As far as spam is concerned, it's not going to get better any time soon- it's going to get worse. Programs like this are not a problem, and contribute little if anything to the overall spam problem.

People like "Sleix" from 7/5/03 doesn't know what he/she is talking about. This is a good product with legitimate uses.

eMailerX CommentaryRE: What about Glucose's Ratchet? - Version: 2.7, 12/30/2003 08:09AM PST

You can use your favorite mail program's "Save As" or "Export" function to export the raw source of your messages into a text file. Then use eMailerX to "Bulk Remove" them.

1. Open a Bulk Remove window under the addresses menu.
2. Drag and drop your exported file on it.
3. Edit the list if you need to.
4. And finally, click to remove all occurrences from the main list.

Here's a screen shot of the Bulk Remove window.

eMailerX CommentaryWhat about Glucose's Ratchet? - Version: 2.7, 12/30/2003 07:45AM PST

This kind of tool is handy if you are managing a website with a ton of users and your system cannot manage email bouncebacks automatically. I use a competing product (Glucose's Ratchet) to extract the email addresses of all the bounced emails, so we can spot accounts that may be stale or invalid.

To the author: would you care to compare what is different between your application and Ratchet? Ratchet is great but it is slow.

Look at the developer's comments below: "who cares if you have any more SPAM? 10 seconds and it's gone!".
Will he pay for those (n times) 10 seconds?
Will he pay for the (n times) wasted bandwidth?
I guess he won't.
Well, I WISH he did :P. But instead he gets money selling this.
What a wonderful world we would have withOUT people like you, man.

Spamfighter--2008
Kevin writes:

>Note to all anti-spammers and posters to feedback: Your feedback
>has given me new life to make this tool even better. As Bush says,
>"Bring them on!"

Now, why, if this product is benign, would anyone have to bring anything on?

> I have many customers who use this tool responsably, and who tell
>me that this tool is very useful in their daily work of keeping emailing
>lists up to date.

Then where are their testimonials on this listing page on VersionTracker?

>I understand your frustrations with spam. However, your comments
>here are useless.

Why?

>eMailer allows you to drag and drop email addresses from text files
>and your web browser. eMailing lists have never been easier. Once
>you've built your emailing lists, you can manage each list of emails
>marking the individual email addresses with the list of emails that
>you have sent.

Here, he ADMITS that there is no legitimate use for the product - no-one can create a list of confirmed opted-in addresses with this product according to this.

eMailerX ReviewYet another way to fill up our mailboxes... - Version: 2.0, 7/5/2003 08:14PM PST

Well, in all the time I've seen things that served a purpose, I have always found that there are some that don't even deserve to see the light of day...this program serves up one case in point.

This program, for one, serves no other purpose than to fill up my box with more genital enlargement and money making schemes, and other assorted useless information, which I get an abundant supply of already. I don't need this, nor does anybody in this so-called modern day society.

I will suggest that the programmers of this software try finding a better venture, possibly one that is more useful. With this program, all you will be getting is scorn and ridicule by those who find this soon to be unlawful venture unappealing to say the least.
