Absolute Backgammon ReviewGreat application, can't live without it. - Version: 6.5.1, 8/13/2009 11:18PM PST

Great application, can't live without it.

I'd wish my computer will recognize hand movements and allow me to pass the dice the natural way, like Wii.
I'd wish that I can hear virtual voices commenting my game in real time.

Meanwhile, it's absolutely fun. It's worth every cent.

Absolute Backgammon ReviewSomewhat of a 'Newbie' - Version: 6.5, 8/3/2009 01:00PM PST

Appreciate the 'Suggested Moves' -- as it speeds up the learning curve of someone who hasn't played too much -- yet !!!!

This application seems more user friendly than the more highly recommended BGBlitz to me !!

Absolute Backgammon ReviewA delight to play and a challenge to boot - Version: 6.1.6, 7/5/2009 06:10PM PST

Even though I have just found this version, I started playing David's backgammon back when that was actually what it was called. That was ages ago and this new version is far superior. It is easy to work with and you can actually be challenged in the game. It is fun to play and with the different board setups you can vary your viewing pleasure.

I am very pleased to have this on my computer once again.

Is it me or is there a large amount of people leaving feedback on the software who have never left feedback on any other software?

Pass me a herring.

Absolute Backgammon: Challenging beyond other online backgammon games I've played. Download was simple. Purchasing the password was worth the cost, along with fast service from the company / creator.

Absolute Backgammon ReviewBackgammon for the Mac - Version: 6.1.4, 4/25/2009 01:48PM PST

I haven't played Backgammon on my Mac since the very old days when there was a black-and-white program that filled the 9-inch screen of my Fat Mac. So I was pleased to see MacUpdate offering a discount on this one.

I've only played it for two days but am fairly pleased so far. It took some getting used to as some of the details on how to pick up and put down pieces differed from the old MacGammon (or whatever it was called). Once I got settled in to that, I was satisfied.

Appearance is good, game play is good. I'm running with the default settings right now for the opponent, who seems remarkably aggressive to me, leaving pips exposed that I would never leave exposed, even to send one back. It seems to be at a competitive level for me, neither too stupid nor totally beyond me.

I have some sympathy for the "cheating" accusations as it seems to be very good at getting doubles right after the stakes are raised. But I thought that about the old game, too, so I'm assuming it's just some quirk of human psychology.

I don't know what sort of alternatives there are out there, but I'm pretty happy with this one.

Absolute Backgammon ReviewAbsolute Backgammon works well for me. - Version: 6.1.1, 1/21/2009 05:17PM PST

I sympathize with those who become frustrated with what appears to be a lack of randomness in the game. I discovered after many months of play that at least part of that is simply the mathematical odds of certain combinations of pips falling each roll. My win-loss ratio improved once I began to follow a few simple strategies. In my opinion, this is a well developed program and is more than worth its cost.

Absolute Backgammon ReviewHouse Wins! - Version: 6.1.1, 12/30/2008 07:18PM PST

It appears to be rigged for the House to Win.
The dice rolls are not random to me.
The House gets great rolls, and we get junk.

I'LL stick to the real game.

Absolute Backgammon ReviewGreat Game - Version: 6.0.9, 12/17/2008 02:24AM PST

Great game, amazing support from David.
I think the people who have questioned the 'random' dice rolls need to up their game and look at the stats more often. Thanks for sharing this with us David.
