Needs to handle Safari "feed:" URLs better - Version: 1.1, 11/18/2005 02:53AM PST

It would be great if this could convert Safari's custom feed: URLs into the appropriate format for other browsers. In Firefox, for example, if it could turn them into Live Bookmarks that would be great (or at least replace the feed: with http:)
It does overwrite old files

This is an excellent product but note that it does overwrite the old bookmarks folder (you backed it up, right?).
Although, the documentation does make this clear the dialogue box is confusing:
"Automatically replace existing bookmarks files" with a checkboxcould give the impression that if you keep it unchecked the old bookmarks are merged. This is not the case, this checkbox simply controls whether the overwrite happens instantaneously or whether you get a save dialogue box.
It perhaps should be reworded to:
"Make the replacement of bookmarks automatic".

Wow! Full points

Slam dunk! Safari bookmarks instantly moved to Firefox. Thanks for this great tool!
Excellent donate-ware does its job quickly, easily

The fast, easy-to-use Safari Bookmark Exporter 1.1 has played nice with Safari from OS 10.3.9 through OS 10.4.2.
I use it to keep the bookmarks file for my alternate browser, Firefox, up to date.
One just clicks the button to analyze Safari bookmarks and then clicks the button for the browser to which you want the bookmarks exported. SBE then opens the folder in which the target browser stores its bookmark file and ask if it's OK to replace the old file. Including launching and quitting SBE, that takes less than a minute.
I'd rather call it donate-ware than freeware because the developer of such a product certainly deserves donations to defray all the time spent in keeping it up to date and to encourage further research and development.
Respectfully, Norm

I love this little app... It recently helped me update my Yahoo bookmarks. Export in one of formats yahoo will accept then import these to my yahoo. Thanks to the developer of this great tool.
Unless there is a way to export bookmarks in Leopard, I hope the developers read these posts and realize how much we need this app. I'd even be willing to pay something for it, it's that helpful!
