OMM, reminders only appear when the application is open. For me that's a serious limitation for an app featuring reminders.

Chandler started with a great idea of allowing users to manage many types of data in one place and to do it in an open source project; it was supposed to be the a PIM for the Internet age, and a successor to the much-loved DOS program Magellan developed by Mitch Kapor. Unfortunately the wheels fell off this project a long time ago and they have not been able to realize the vision at all. The 1.0 release candidate is, in my view, not usable. There is no email (there used to be) nor is there any way to manage contacts. It is essentially a very complicated and idiosyncratic calendar and task list. The interface is somewhat improved but still very odd. Why do they show the item data in a little box down on the right side of the screen where you can hardly see it?
I once had high hopes for this project but at least at this point it is not useful for day to day work. Not recommended.
