QuickImageCM Troubleshooting ReportFound solution! - Version: 2.4, 6/27/2009 02:44AM PST

The solution to the "delete resource fork" problem on Intel machines is to install Grim Ripper. Works fine. MacBook Pro, OSX 10.5.7

I used QuickImage almost daily till I switched to an Intel machine. Now, as you all probably know, it doesn't work for me. I'm very unhappy.

Developer's email address bounces. Maybe they're out of business?

I was using it to delete resource forks. Anyone know of a suitable replacement?

QuickImageCM CommentaryFile Buddy is the answer for 10.5.2 on Intel Macs - Version: 2.4, 3/12/2008 10:49PM PST

File Buddy will give you a contextual menu that includes icons also Symbolic Icons and Symbolic Links. It will also do a great number of other things like remove duplicate files and let you clean your system of orphaned files and so many other things not related to Quick image. It is not freeware and is somewhat expensive but is the best way and the only way I know of to get a contextual menu including the addition of icons to files.I might add that on 10.5.2 on all my Macs a G5 as well as 3 PowerbookG4s and an iMac all PPC the QuickimageCM plug in works. It does not work on my MacbookAir which of course is Intel. File Buddy will permit you to license a notebook and a desktop. The cost is $39 but well worth it as I really missed Quick ImageCM on my Macbook Air.

Don't know why it's not working for some people.
This works for me with 10.5.1 on a PPC G5.

Great CM plugin but has not functioned since I installed 10.5. Reinstalled plugin in system and user libraries CMI folders. No dice. I hope this is updated for Leopard, I dearly miss it!

I'm thinking of going Intel Mac but I use this developers software almost daily and would gladly pay a fee if development would continue.

Anyone here know of a worthy alternative to this handy utility that actually DOES work on the MacTel processors in the new MacBook Pros, as well as other recent models? Thanks for the heads-up.

QuickImageCM CommentaryDon't hold your breath waiting for an upgrade - Version: 2.4, 11/30/2006 06:49AM PST

The developer hasn't touched this program since 2004. I don't hold much faith in him updating it for intel Macs.

Well, it was nice while it lasted, but this kind of thing really sours me on donating to fly-by-night developers.
