Product Description:

GURPS Character Sheet is a WYSIWYG character sheet editor for the GURPS 4th Edition rules.

What's new in this version:

  • Feature #1863057: Per Prerequisite. Perception can now be used as a prerequisite. Thanks to Kevin Michael Smith for contributing a patch to implement this.
  • Feature 1863104: Multiplicative Modifiers. Implemented this optional rule from Powers, page 102.
  • Feature 1853186: Allow menu keys to be remapped. This is a feature that used to exist in versions of GCS prior to the migration to Swing. I've reinstated it.
  • Bug #1892558: Updating of character sheet stops working.
  • Changes to Will or Perception when the house rule was enabled were not recalculating prerequisites unless something else triggered the calculation. Thanks to Kevin Michael Smith for contributing a patch to correct this oversight.
  • Bug #1863011: Failure loading Parry Techniques.
  • Altered the way rounding works so that a modifier of x1/3 to a value such as 10 would produce 3 rather than the 4 GCS used to produce.
  • Feature #1892433: Cloaks to calculate block based on cloak skill. Two issues were resolved. First, the cloak equipment items were not entered correctly to pick up their blocking capability. Second, even if they had been, the calculation for this particular case would have been off. Both are now corrected.
  • Applied patch from Kevin Michael Smith to update and add more data from the Powers manual.
  • Bug #1866156: Incorporated spell fixes contributed by Nathan (sorry, don't have a last name).
  • Applied patch from Sebastien Wilhelmi to categorize all uncategorized skills, correct and recategorize all cinematic techniques and add some perks, skills and techniques from High Tech.
  • Added "Dungeon Fantasy" data files contributed by Kevin Michael Smith.

GURPS Character Sheet ReviewGURPS Character Sheet ROCKS - Version: 3.0.0.25, 1/11/2006 07:49PM PST

GURPS Character Sheet for Mac OS X is a wonderful tool allowing a GM to quickly and easily build the dozens of characters needed for populating all those wonderful places that you've concocted. And the customization just keeps getting better with each release. Richard Wilkes has done an outstanding job with great attention to detail, and he's pretty responsive too! I highly recommend this to any GURPS GM or Player. In addition to being really cool, it's free unlike Character Builder from Steve Jackson Games (not ripping on those guys, but they don't have Mac and Linux version of their software!). I would not be surprized if Richard announced a dual-binary version for the new Intel Macs this year.

Trollworks (Richard A. Wilkes)
The current Java 5 package that Apple is offering for download to non-developers has some bugs in it related to displaying certain types of graphics. This results in swapping of the red and blue channels in the image, giving very odd colored images. In addition, this release also seems to have problems with transparency, so some graphics overlap where they shouldn't. All of these problems have been fixed in the version Apple makes available to developers — however, I don't know when they plan on releasing that version... soon, with any luck. In the meantime, the product functions fine, but may look a bit odd (especially the splash screen).

to Mac users who play GURPS. Quick and intuitive with a good balance of "do it for you" and flexibility, sorta like GURPS.
