Product Description:

Posting to WebLogs can be very tiresome. You must launch you favorite browser, log into your account, select your blog, type the content into some cabalistic HTML UI and then pray to the Gods of Javascript that everything goes okay... it shoudn't be like that.

With BlogWorks you can relax. Just launch the application and fill out your details in the preference drawer (needed only once) and BlogWorks will be ready to post to your weblogs. Select the blog you want to use from the popup above the text input area, type in your message and press post... thats all, everytime you launch BlogWorks it will be just ready to post, no more tedious login procedures, just quick and easy like your toughts. The Interface fits nicely with other MacOS X apps, and it's pretty easy to use.

BlogWorks uses the Blogger API, which is a XML-RPC interface to blog systems. This means that any blog tool that uses this standard is made to work with BlogWorks. There are many choices: Blogger, b2, MovableType, Nucleus, BigBlogTool, BlogWorks XML, Blogalia and Drupal. BlogWorks put them all at your service.

What's new in this version:

new 0.7:
  • POST EDITING!!!!
old 0.6: Tools! Tools add special features... like integration with another apps.
  • Tool: Get current playing track from iTunes
  • Tool: Get current page url from Safari
  • Tool: Get current page from Safari as Hyperlink
  • Using BlogWorkz Manual included now.
  • Amazing Text Shortcut engine. This engine allows you to define your own text shortcuts for smart replacement, for example you can set for it to change "my email" to a mailto tag, this way wherever BlogWorkz find reference to "my mail" in your post, it will replace for a email tag which is more elegant.
You can create abreviations for example you might want to set "LOTR" for "The Lord Of The Rings".
You can create your formating rules, for example you might put "[" to and "]" to this way text enclosed in Brackets become bolds! You can try the same for italic using curly braces for example.
it's really up to you! It's like using a word processor find/replace thats smart enought to remember it's settings. BlogWorkz store your shortcuts so once you set it, it's there forever (or until you delete).
I for example got all sites I like (slashdot, macslash, versiontracker...) replaced by Hyperlinks to the sites... it's very professional when the sites quoted in your posts are links and not just text...
I swear that two days using this shortcuts and you'll will not be able to drop it.

BlogWorkz Commentarynope... - Version: 0.7, 9/4/2008 06:56AM PST

plaintiger
for those who, like myself, look at this page and wonder whether this app - last updated in 2004 and whose last user review was received in 2004 - is functional on a modern system, the answer appears to be "no." i just tried BlogWorkz 0.7 on a Mac Pro running OS X v.10.5.4 and it was a mess. windows not being drawn, disembodied "OK" buttons floating over my desktop, settings drawers sliding out of non-existent windows...

alas, this app appears to be dead. i feel sorry for the guy who sent the developer $90.00 and planned to send him more...his contributions don't appear to have been enough to sustain development.

BlogWorkz Commentarycan't email you! - Version: 0.7, 2/20/2004 08:43PM PST

dear developer, i want to email you but your .mac account is "over quota" or so i am told when my message is bounced back to me. here is what i wanted to say:

the app looks good but i can't do anything w/it because of error message (can't parse blah blah blah... error -4 blah blah blah...) i have downloaded the newest version and also manually entered in the blogger address just in case... but it can't get to my blogger account. i don't know what to do! i have over 10 blogs and i'd love to use this app, it would make my life so much easier because all the other blogging apps suck so badly it's not even worth contacting their developers... none of them work. but i want yours to work. what info can i give you... i'm running 10.3.2... ibook g4... (well that shouldn't have anything to do w/it, but still.)

please help!!! or empty your mailbox?

BlogWorkz Usage TipBlogger Changed their XML-RPC Endpoint. - Version: 0.7, 2/13/2004 06:52AM PST

AAG (Soap Dog Studio)
Hi Folks,

This is the developer speaking. Blogger.com changed their XML-RPC Address, so everyone using the old address is receiving a "parser error", to fix it just change the XML-RPC field in the preferences drawer to http://www.blogger.com/api/RPC2

if anyone need further assistance, just send me an email at soapdog@mac.com

Also new downloads are already patched.
Cheers
Andre Garzia
