I just recently started using PDF U and requested additional scripts for PowerMail & InDesign and there was an update containing these new scripts within 3 weeks. Now that's fast! To the whiners who are complaining that they are offering such software as donationware, I'll say this: as a regular Mac user, not a developer or even script writer, I was not aware this could be done, would probably not have thought of doing this if I had been aware that it could be done, don't know how to do it even if I had thought of it, and probably wouldn't have taken the time to do it even if I knew how to do it. That's what software developers and software customers are for, get it? By the way, the software works exactly as it should, which is what these reviews are for.

Sorry for the downtime and stay away from http://www.onestop.net for any of your hosting needs. Instead, consider http://www.hostsolutions.com who actually CARE about their customers and their websites.

Yeah you could just do this manually the way some people are suggesting. If you place an alias to a folder in the PDF services it will save a copy there all right. But you won't have a chance to name the file. Good luck finding it, depending on where it's coming from and where it's going. And sure, you could try your hand at writing your own Apple Scripts to do that. LOL LOL LOL for most people. Give the authors a break. (No, I'm NOT one of them and don't know them.) This is fast and painless for those who can use it. Kind of reminds me of when someone says, "you can do this in terminal for free by typing..." I know how to do that stuff, but most don't want to touch terminal or mess around with things in /Library. Can you really blame them? Not everyone lives on their computer, or FOR their computer, like me <sob>. It was great for Apple to post that info so these guys could write what they did. Bravo!

The website and this file were both 404 when I tried to try this helper app, however nemoinis and others have provided enough information for me to add these features myself. It took two minutes tops. I'll check out the app when it's back online. Thanks!

I didn't know you could do that so easily. Cool. Thanks for the tip. Should submit it as well at macosxhints.com. Tone of your tip is a bit snippy, but I guess that's the norm around here.

If you want to open a printout in Mail or Entourage, just place an alias to Mail or Entourage inside /Library/PDF Services/ and rename it "Mail this printout". If you want to open a printout in Illustrator or Photoshop, place an alias to Illustrator or Photoshop inside /Library/PDF Services/ and rename it "Open this printout in Illustrator". etc, etc... Do you see a pattern here? :-) No scripts needed, takes 2 minutes, works fast. If you can drag-n-drop a PDF onto an application, then you can also put an alias to the application in /Library/PDF Services/ to open printouts with that app.
I don't understand why PDF U uses scripts for this (or why we would need PDF U)? That said, the name of the program is cute :-)
