Product Description:

SnapClip is a small faceless background application to take screenshot easily and quickly. The captured image can be copied to the Clipboard, or saved into various format file including picture clipping, JPEG, TIFF, PICT, etc. It is designed to be more like memo tool rather than screen capture tool. If you save the image to picture clipping file with thumbnail icon, you can easily see what kind of image without using any applications. That's why I use the words 'memo tool'.

Have you ever thought these thoughts?

 • "I wish I could save a captured image into a clipping file so that I can view it easily later."
 • "I wish I could see the content of a captured image easily by looking at icons."
 • "I wish I could cancel the operation in the middle without creating capture file."
 • "I wish I could capture non-rectangular shape images easily without including wasteful space around the image."
 • "Shoot! The mouse just moved a little bit when I released the mouse button. I wish I could select the capturing area precisely with ease."
 • "I like Mac OS X's standard screen capture, but I wish if I could specify output file format and file name"

These are the things I always think when I am using screen capture tools, and the reasons I developed SnapClip.

What's new in this version:

 • Added Mac OS X standard screen capture mode. This uses screencapture command internally, but you can save into various output format with customizable file name.
 • Added preference options for output file name so that users can customized flexibly.
 • Fixed a problem caused by pressing hot-key while capturing is going on (duble-capturing issue)
 • Changed JPEG output image quality settings from popup menu to slider control.

Big fan of SnapClip, however it has stopped working properly a couple of months ago. This is a big pain in the backside as I used to use it everyday and all the other screen capture programs are rubbish, please help.

I have 2 machines:

work: 10.3.9 panther

home: tiger [brand new machine]

Keep on getting a corrupt dialog box when I try to open files:

Preview: couldn’t open the file. It maybe corrupt or a file format that preview doesn’t recognise.

Photoshop: could not complete your request because a JPEG marker segment length is too short[the file maybe truncated or incomplete]

I have tried changing setting and output formats etc but nothing seems to work. I have re-installed a new software from the website with no joy.

Any suggestions

SnapClip ReviewGo for five stars!! - Version: 1.6, 2/9/2004 03:57PM PST

script
This is the best utility of the world, but I have only 2 petitions, add in the prefs the route of the directoy where we want save the files and maybe one little window after the screenshot to rename the file. With this two options this app will be perfect!

Excellent work!
