Product Description:

Last week I posted here the Follow Mouse and the Fullscreen Movie Player. This application combines both to play a movie on the desktop just behind the Finder icons.

Just drop a movie on the application icon or use the Open command from the menu. Press the "esc" key at any time to quit (only if the application is in the front!).

As source code is included, feel free to modify this application to your needs.

A great feature to add to this program would be an ability to adjust the opacity of the movie. Then when it is playing in the background. It will be soft and unobtrusive. I also like the ability to choose for it to auto start that was suggested here also.

Great product!

Desktop Movie Player ReviewNeeds One More Thing - Version: 2.2, 10/20/2007 10:02PM PST

Hi. I love it. Very enojoyable. It needs one more thing though. You need to stick in there somewhere an ability for the software to start playing something every time it is opened automatically. Screen savers and desktop bgs are all automatic. They do what they do without you telling them to. This one should as well. It'd be wonderful if every time you turned it on it went to your movies folder, picked one at random and just started playing it...as a constant shuffle. Really important. Till you have it, it's only going to be nice to use those times when I bother to go into it and get it running.

is possible with MPlayer, too. Add all .vob files (without menu files) to MPlayers Playlist and press play. That's it. (Maybe works with Desktop Movie Player, too - have not tried this app yet.) And sorry for this two post instead of one.
