This is a great product and extremely flexible. Plus the price is right!! Works very well in MAC environment. Currently, I'm using OS 10.5.6. I never had any problems with previous version.

Safe Place Troubleshooting Reportanybody else's copy crashing under 10.5.5? - Version: 2.2.4, 9/22/2008 01:34PM PST

i think Safe Place isn't compatible with OS X v.10.5.5. i updated last night and now Safe Place is crashing all over the place. it was crashing when i tried to create a new record, so i moved the prefs and the Safe Place folder from Application Support out to my desktop and reinstalled Safe Place (with an installer freshly downloaded from Mere Mortal's site) and Safe Place crashed the moment i hit Return after putting in and confirming my new password.

if it's not 10.5.5 i don't know what it is...anybody else experiencing this?

I lost all my data for an incomprehensible reason. And the developer never answered my question. So, I switched to another application.

Safe Place ReviewExcellent product - Version: 2.2.4, 2/16/2008 12:00AM PST

At $10.00 Safe Place is a great software bargain; I'd feel lost without it. All the tribulations involved in remembering, recording, and subsequently finding UserIDs, passwords, account information are now things of the past. It is especially valuable for those websites for which Safari cannot record login info for future re-use.

On feature addition I'd like is an option to place an encrypted backup copy on my iDisk as an extra safeguard for such important information as Safe Place stores.

I've used Safe Place for a long time with no problems. It runs fine in Leopard for me. I'm just installing this latest update and --- --- wait for it!--- ---- Launched just as planned. Thanks. Ron.

Safe Place Troubleshooting ReportDoes'nt launch on Leopard - Version: 2.2.3, 11/7/2007 03:24AM PST

Safe Place was perfect for me since I moved to Leopard.
After the install of Apple's new OS, Safe Place 2.2.3 simply refused to launch.

I got 3 warnings : "Error #-9939 ToolboxPack The plug-in method cannot be executed. " , "An error occurred while trying to register the ToolboxPack plug-in. ", The Foundation General component requires version 4.2 of the Foundation Extras-plug-in. Please install this plug-in. "

On mere-mortal-software.com website, the short FAQ didn't help me.
I wrote an email using their " contact us page " and got no answer.
No mention of Leopard on their site...

I stay by now with an unusable software.

I've been using Safe Place for well over a year now, and my only wish is that there were a version for the Palm OS that would Sync with the desktop version. I love this software: I use it daily and it never fails me. I've spent time customizing the fields and tables and have come to really appreciate the ability to customize the program for my own needs: too many pieces of software force you to do things THEIR way.

It's very easy to use and the support from Dave Batton has been phenominal: I contacted him about a Palm OS version and though he doesn't plan to do one, he pointed out that an export can be done as an encrypted PDF, which should work with DocumentsToGo 8.001 which came with my Treo. Highly recommended, and I'm using an older version!

That's how long I would recommend this software. It is easy to use. Easy to customize if you must, and it does exactly what it is supposed to— keep those credit card numbers, web passwords, server information, and software registrations, etc., in tow.

And now for some bad stuff :-)

I found a bug in the program, emailed Dave and hang on folks, it took him nearly 4 hours to fix it. Four hours :-)

Oh, and this software passes my PSS test. Price, simplicity and service.

I have used Safe Place for a couple of years and find it indispensable. It has saved my bacon more than once. It is intuitive, flexible, and a bargain for what it does. Dave recently worked on an issue with the application that was causing a freeze when I made a new entry. We corresponded by email until he found the problem, and then promptly fixed it. I wish everyone presented such a damn fine product, and responded to problems like Dave does. This is simply great software. Do yourself a favor and buy it! It is what all shareware should be!
