Almost Perfect!

Works great! The browser-style playback bar is a wonderful feature, because you can shift-click the volume button to increase it up to about 300%! Perfect for quiet DivX/XviD movies.
I love that you can quickly hide the whole program with cmd-H and it will keep going in the background, then be fullscreen when you click its icon again. And though I haven't tried yet, I'm sure the playlist feature would be perfect for multi-part movies.
My only request would be a key combo to show/hide the progress bar. But overall, this is my new player of choice! It's worked flawlessly with QuickTime, MPEG, and AVI files.

it works for me on mpeg1, avi, mov and mp4. I don't have any dv to test with. What does it do for you when you open an mpeg? Can quicktime play the file in question?
Another option that would be cool is the ability to download QT movies from the internet and then save them as .mov files on the HD. If I'm not mistaken, QT 6 requires a Pro key to do this, which is totally absurd. I don't mind paying for the editing features of QT Pro, but the basic functionality should be there for the get go. Really, QT is so old, and the functions are so simple, that it makes NO sense at all for them to charge OS X buyers extra for QT Pro. Many iLife apps have high level functions for free, and Apple doesn't charge for these, so why QT Pro? Their business model with QT is utterly stupid, IMO. Apple's focus should be on attaining the greatest market penetration possible with Quicktime, and shipping a hobbled nagware app to play Quicktime media is more like a strategy for abolishing the Quicktime standard.
