Okay when free, but not worth $20.

ImageWell Commentary7 Day Demo Only - Version: 3.5.1, 4/10/2008 10:37AM PST

Before downloading and installing please note that v3.5.0 is the very last free version (without xtras). Versions 3.5.1 onward are 7 day demos only, after which time you must pay the shareware fee.

Therefore, if you would like to continue using ImageWell for free, hang onto version 3.5.0.

ImageWell Commentaryexif? - Version: 3.5.1, 4/9/2008 02:56PM PST

Is it that difficult to make it so that imagewell does not erase exif information? Tons of people have been clamoring that the exif data be preserved after processing through imagewell, but the developer still hasn't looked in to this.

I predict that this app. will fall into disuse and eventual oblivion since it is not useful for serious photographers who need their exifs intact; and it will be dumped by a majority of users because it is no longer free. I am hoping that the developer realizes that this once useful app. is at a point where it will soon become useless if he doesn't add the features that everyone is requesting so badly such as the exif.

ImageWell CommentaryWhat a shame - Version: 3.5, 4/3/2008 12:46PM PST

I originally picked this tool up because it was free, and could do basic tasks like resizing images without hassle (and without having to open a larger tool, like Photoshop, just to resize an image).

I'll have to find something else.

ImageWell ReviewNo longer needed - Version: 3.5, 4/3/2008 08:25AM PST

ImageWell was wonderful while it lasted, but with Skitch, ImageWell has gone the way of the dodo. I really enjoyed using it for the last few years and probably would keep it handy still, but I've not used it nor found the need for the past 6 months or so with Skitch in my pocket. Good luck guys! Hope you can come up with some more compelling software or features for this good old tool.

ImageWell ReviewExcellent, but... - Version: 3.5, 4/2/2008 04:52PM PST

This program does everything that it says it does... and it does it very well. However, the fact that it continues to strip photographs of its EXIF information when it is run through this application is a major negative point.

The maker is aware of this and has indicated his intention to preserve the EXIF info in future versions, but after so long (many, many months), ImageWell is still stripping photographs of their EXIF info. What a shame. It is major drawback on such an excellent app. Here's hoping that the EXIF info. will be included in the next version soon.

The developer of ImageWell certainly deserves payment for all his hard work. If you feel ImageWell is too buggy then don't use it, I am sure you could develop a better application.

ImageWell ReviewGood features but not easy to use. - Version: 3.3.2, 12/2/2007 02:02PM PST

This tool is not easy to use. You need a long time to figure out how it works.
It offers many features but it contains unfortunately many bugs e.g. it freeze sometimes without any reason.

I read the software is now phoning home. Spyware?!

Another point is that it should be free but we have pay 20$ ONLY for the batch mode.

I can not recommend this software.

ImageWell Troubleshooting ReportDrop shadows don't seem to work - Version: 3.2.2, 9/15/2007 06:35PM PST

Stupidly, I chucked my previous versions, and I can't get the new, much less intuitive drop-shadow tools to add shadows to anything.

Anybody get this feature to work? Anybody know where I can d/l previous versions. Stupidly, I chucked my 2.1.1 before I realized how much I didn't like v3.

ImageWell ReviewCool Little App - Version: 3.2.2, 7/30/2007 02:45PM PST

I have been using this for a while and paid the money to upgrade for the extra features. I don't need anything complex, just being able to batch resize a load of pics and send them to a directory which I then upload to Photobucket or FlickR after renaming with FileList.

It just works, it has never let me down. If only everything was this simple! All I need to do now is find out about all those things that it does that I haven't bothered to learn!
