gerardvschipI downloaded both MorpX and Morphage and the results are a world apart. Morphage renders HORRID movies. I do not understand why it does these weird pixelated transitions in chunks. Real shame as the interface is nice with a LOT of options.

LarMatreHmmm, I give up. What are these forums for then?
I would bet if you were getting positive comments here, you wouldn't make that somewhat ridiculous statement.
We are (were) your potential customers sharing our honest opinions with you.
If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. ; )

R. Sebbe (eX-cinder)To answer your questions:
- Yes Morph Age is being actively maintained.
- You can request an evaluation license if you need it. This fully enables the software for a limited time.
Morph Age 3.0 is well on its way, and due to the way it is being developed (versioning), we made the choice to only include new features in new releases, and only bug fixes to existing releases.
I usually don't comment on unreleased products, but I will address your specific questions anyway.
- Limitations will be less restrictive in MA3.0
- We want highend features for Morph Age, which take time and energy to develop, hence the price. If you don't agree with this, there are other options than Morph Age.
- Morph Age 2.x -> 3.0 upgrade will be free for customer who buy Morph Age 2.x after February 1st 2006 (included)
Thanks for feedback,
Raphael

Knock, knock! Developer, are you out there?

LarMatreAbout a year-and-a-half ago, one poster (capologist) mentioned the limitation of only being able to define only 10 points in the demo. Since then, nothing has been done to address that issue. And if you do define an additional point, even accidently (easy to do because of the UI), you're toast ... it will not allow you to remove another point of your choosing, so you must start over. How many other weird glitches are there?
It is impossible to determine this app's capability with the 10-point limitation. I assume the developer believes that we will fork over $100 because Morph Age might (just maybe) do what we need it to do ... not I, and I would have to assume not many others, either. I tend to believe if an app is limited to the point of not being able to thoroughly test it, that, quite possibly, that limitation is imposed to hide something.
Note to developer: if you are serious about selling Morph Age, you may want to show a little respect to those who take time to write to you, because for every one who writes, potentially another 100 or so simply drag your application to the trash and move on.
Like I said earlier, Morph Age seems to have potential, but if you want my cash to end up in your wallet, I need to try out Morph Age's capabilities and features completely. Protect your product on the output end with watermarks, as an example, but do not limit me from making sure it will meet my needs.
And, lastly, you may also want to re-examine the price ... competitive analysis will quickly tell you it's overpriced. $39 seems fair ... if it can do what I need it to. Make the demo less restrictive, lower the price and you'll make it up in sales volume (IMHO).

One hundred dollar icon! - Version: 2.1.2, 8/29/2004 04:01AM PST
Lex Luthor
Very expensive one trick pony - A trick only the most innocent
film maker could use and the more experienced could easily find
a more stylish less, convoluted method than Morph Age.
'Photo to Movie' charges half of your price and is expensive but still
about the right fee for what it does.
For those with a little less cash burning a hole in their pocket try
Martin Wennerberg's donationware MorphX - http://www.norrkross.com/
or http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/2987
It'll do some 'morphing' for you but won't skin you.
(Ex-cinder should take one purchase of their 'many' One hundred bucks
price tag fees and get a real designer to create a one hundred
dollar icon for this app - it's like a 'hack' made it in a hurry.)
