Mozilla Firebird is a speedy, full-featured browser that makes browsing more efficient than ever before. Firebird includes:

a tab browsing mode that lets you open several pages in a single window, allowing you to load links in the background without leaving the page you're on;
integrated search (powered by Google);
industry leading accessibility with Find As You Type - find links and page text by simply typing;
simplified privacy controls that let you cover your tracks more effectively;
a streamlined browser window that lets you see more of the page than any other browser while at the same time being more configurable;

What's new in this version:

This service release fixes the following bugs in 0.7:

Unable to open URLs sent by other applications when set as default browser. (Shows XML error window)
Save Page As, Save Image As, Save Link As, are non-functional.
Double clicking a tab when using the Pinstripe theme opens a new one
Automatic download of files to desktop not enabled by default
First new window after closing all windows has non-functional UI (bookmarks, navigation, session history, etc)

This release also contains some performance enhancements resulting in 15-40% improvements in startup time on MacOS X 10.2 Jaguar and MacOS X 10.3 Panther depending on the speed and memory of your system.

Firefox 3.0.3 is far better at rendering HTML and CSS than its predecessors, but it still doesn't integrate well with Mac OS X. It's faster than ever and has more features, but it's still annoyingly clunky. Unless you need or want to use Firefox addons, <rhetorical)Why bother?</rhetorical> The word "feh" comes to mind.

Hello,

I could not manage Firefox 3.0.3 to display the font face "Gill Sans Light" which I have correctly specified in my css properties.

e.g.

.headline { font-size: 72px; font-family: "Gill Sans Light", "Gill Sans", Helvetica, Arial, Sans-Serif; font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; text-decoration: none; }

This doesn't seem to work neither in Apple Safari. Has anyone a clue how to fix this?

Still a few bugs, but overall an awesome product. Thanks Mozilla team! I used to use Camino, but with this version, I don't see many advantages with Camino anymore.
