Product Description:

mpc2aiff is a front-end interface for the command-line utility mppdec (by Frank Klemm), which will decode mpc files (mpp, mp+) to aif format. If you usually surf the web and share music, then you should know what is this format (or at least the mac-unplayable ".mpc" extension -see reviews below-), a high quality compression algorithm based on MPEG. mpc2aiff will convert these files to ".aif", suitable to burn to a CD or whatever other utility you give them.

What's new in this version:

Updates the engine mppdec (to 1.15r, by Dibrom), adds the capability to encode wav files to mpc (mppenc), and lots of localization files, for your convenience...

mpc2aiff CommentaryUn-unstuffable without Aladdin - Version: 1.2, 11/24/2007 02:26PM PST

King Pelvis
This can not be extracted by Leopard using it's built in extraction tools. One would therefore have to get Stuffit in order to open the file, which is an unattractive option on a brand new leopard install.

mpc2aiff Troubleshooting Reporthow about Tiger ? - Version: 1.2, 2/11/2007 03:24PM PST

how does this work on Tiger ? I unstuffed the archive but it seems there are no files in the newly created folder , so....thanx for help . and who invented the mpc format anyway ? i thought this was supposed to make a difference...i mean Mac users have their standard audio video formats , and pc users can handle all the other hundreds of audio and video formats hoping they will find one that actually sound or look good .
