thanx a lot for your advice. I'll try to find a way to make installation easy, somehow. Improvement on navigation of the install script or something.
To make admin:
Yes, there is NO admin user/pw in user_config.inc.php.
"user" and "password" stuff in user_config.inc.php means "MySQL user" and "MySQL password". You cannot login with this MySQL user id/pw for security reason.
To make "Admin" that can post or edit the entries, you have to login "ACCOUNT MANAGER" with your "MySQL user" and "MySQL password".
then, login again with the "Admin & pw" that you've created.
You don't have to edit ".htaccess". All you have to do is write your "MySQL user name" and "MySQL user pass" in "user_config.inc.php" and create a "Admin user" and "Admin pass" with "MySQL user name & pass".

I just wasted 2 hours trying to install this puppy and I admit it's impossible to figure it out. The instructions are *extremely* poor and assume you can mind meld with the author's brain. I can't.
I've done dozens of php/mysql installations in the past and this is without a doubt the most cryptic and difficult I've ever seen. I followed the instructions (brief as they are) precisely and got to a login screen for admin. After that it's anybody's guess how to set the admin username and password.
The instructions allude to setting the admin name/pw in the user_config.inc.php file but there is no setting in there for it. I tried renaming the .htaccess file and creating a password file in a private folder, that didn't work either.
Normally if an installation is this problematic I'd just trash the files and move on. The only reason I'm writing this is because I see such promise in this application and, from what I can see, the code is good and the thinking is even better. But with such a poor installation process it's virtually useless.

What I would like to see is a full compliment of image tools built onto the backend of this sweet little app. Photoblogs are the big cheese now. Incorporate features for GD2 and ImageMajick for AutoThumb, and Image Auto Resize feature tack a gallery onto the back end and incorporate thos efeatures into your product. Do it now don't let others hack it on it spoils the overall product. The ability to easily incorporate images into any blog are required this day and age. For every other product out there unless already a "gallery" the ability to incorporate photos is a Addon or a Hack. There are numerous Open GPL gallery scripts available light code excellent operability add one now...JUST DO IT. Maybe Photostack, PixelPost. Better yet tie your product into the NEW server Web Photos Pro http://www.webphotospro.com tie your blog into this pro photo blog tool. DO IT RIGHT, BUILD THE BLOCKS, KNOCK OUT COMPETITION. MoveableT, WordP etc., incorporate image ability it is only the hackers who can truely make it work for the masses just look at their forums. P-Blog is new and fresh make it the best kid on the block for end users NOW.
