Question: Why can't I use certain SD Memory Cards?
Answer: Some recently sold Secure Digital cards (SD card) are not accessible using the YD-8V14. Therefore, we have made some enhancements to the firmware of the YD-8V14 to allow access to these new types of cards.
Solution: Please be sure to read carefully Updater User's Manual before updating your firmware.

What's new in this version:

  • added support to some new types of SD cards.
  • Notes: To determine if your YD-8V14 needs to be updated, please refer to the serial number on the bottom of your YD-8V14. If......

    The S/N is any one of followings, you need the update.
    S/N 8V14 XXXXXXXXXXX XX/XX BAA
    S/N 8V14 XXXXXXXXXXX XX/XX BBA
    S/N 8V14 XXXXXXXXXXX XX/XX BBB

    The S/N is 8V14 XXXXXXXXXXX XX/XX BBC or later, you do not need the update.

has fixed a problem with my HMD reading a 128MB SD card - most images would be fine but some of them would not copy from the card. I thought the card's directory had gor corrupted, but it turns out that it was a firmware issue all the time.

me too with my LaCie drive (also rev BAA). You have to start the flash program with the drive disconnected, then connect it when prompted. Nicely produced flash software - very professional. Can't comment on the effects of the new firmware yet, though.
