Product Description:

buildDMG is a small Perl script for creating dmgs from the command line or from within Project Builder/Xcode. It supports compression as well as internet enabling and adding of a software license agreement. Additionally there is some special support for Project Builder/Xcode which allows e.g. dmg or volume names containing the version number of your project or removing your dmg when cleaning the target using buildDMG.

What's new in this version:

  • fixed a bug creating backslash escaped space characters in dmg names

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2
  • Mac OS X 10.1
  • Mac OS X 10.0

Additional Requirements:

  • installed Developer Tools
  • buildDMG is based on hdiutil. See the hdiutil(1) manpage for the details on which system version is required for which feature. The basic functionality of creating a dmg should be available since OS X 10.0 (I haven't tested that).

buildDMG CommentaryActually... it doesn't work without Developer Tools - Version: 1.8, 3/31/2004 12:07AM PST

The problem old skool is seeing will happen in Jaguar too. At least one non-standard routine -- CpMac -- is used in the build script.

sh: /Developer/Tools/CpMac: No such file or directory

Maybe the author could use 'ditto' instead (?)... or, at least list "Developer Tools" in the requirements.
