Product Description:

Impose pages from a single QuarkXPress document into 2 up or 4 up flats. Unlike other solutions that are currently available to QuarkXPress users, Imposer will not rearrange or shuffle pages in a document - rather reordering is handled in the print stream yielding not only quicker but more reliable results. Imposer will give you full control over creep, bleed, and crossover traps. Whether your production piece is a brochure or a book, Imposer offers a seamless, easy-to-use solution to QuarkXPress. Features Include: Choose 2-Up, or 4-Up - Standard, Work & Turn or Work & Tumble Select Saddle Stitch, Perfect Bound, or Single Sheet binding Flip and move pages within a printer flat Start an imposition at any page in the document Specify the number of pages in a signature Control plate margins, horizontal and vertical gaps, bleeds, crossover trapping, and creep Access registration styles created using the MarkIt 2.x XTension Save frequently used settings as reusable imposition styles Export imposition styles to share them with other users Preview any printer flat; control color depth of previews Display page boundaries, bleeds, and page numbers in previews as necessary Print with standard QuarkXPress controls

Imposer Troubleshooting ReportCan't save settings - Version: 2.6.1, 8/17/2004 08:54AM PST

tonyaguila_dotmac
When you first open up the Imposer window the layout defaults to Registration OFF. You can turn it on and try to save it as a setting. For some reason the details always show registration off center even if you select center. The next time you run XPress and Imposer, registration will be off again. Very irritating, and expensive, if you happen to run a big job to film before realizing that the registration marks are not there!

Way back the same thing was happening, and then suddenly they "fixed" it... the registration ON setting was being retained. But now it's back to its old ways.

Imposer ReviewFantastic product... I've… - Version: 2.1.3, 5/8/2002 10:16PM PST

been using this as a production manager for a service bureau for over 2 years, and the last bugs (especially with bleed interface with our Harlequin RIP) seem to have been taken care of. It's not only useful for printing, but also to make printer spread PDF proofing document files, which turn out wonderfully. The note by Martin Turner, below, is correct in that it tends to crash when used with OS 8.5 - as I was at first - but from 8.6 on seems to work like a dream. Fine work; good price!
