Product Description:

This is a tool that will allow you to set up a CVS repository, set up a pserver to allow remote access, install cvsweb.cgi for web access to your repository, and install a new (and this is the beta part) daemon which will advertise your repository via Rendezvous.

What's new in this version:

This release provides a slightly better set of messages once you've run an installation, detailing what's just been installed and doing any troubleshooting on the installed pieces. It also defaults to remote access via ssh, and not pserver. It also adds support for advertising CVS over ssh with the Rendezvous delegate.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.2

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2 or higher

CVSServerSetup Commentarycvswrappers and ssh - Version: 1.1, 5/19/2003 10:08AM PST

All right, so the new ssh functionality basically just checks to make sure you've ssh running, and displays the CVSROOT env variable you might use to access the repository via ssh...
As far as cvswrappers go, cvswrappers are generally a Bad Thing (tm)... I've, personally, always avoided them in any situation where I've had to admin a CVS repository... what sort of cvswrappers support were you looking for? General sort of convenience .nib wrapping? Or more?

I just see a single posting, and there used to be many...
...which makes it difficult to figure out what the state of the affair is with this software. Are bbum's suggestions incorporated yet? ssh seems to be listed as a new feature. What about cvswrappers?

Oh, and the new feedback form stinks: Obviously I have *not* used this product yet, but that's not a possible choice. How about adding a N/A selection. Same thing with recommending the software. How could I?

absolutely right. This thing is more for the casual LAN developer who really should start using version control but wasn't sure where to start. Or maybe not so casual. You can picture the type of developer, anyway. And the Rendezvous bit lets his other fellow casual developers find the repository more easily. And I couldn't agree more with cvswrappers... baaaaad baaad thing. Your rants on it, bbum, and experience with .wos and .nibs in CVS is enough to convince anybody. : )
