Product Description:

Imagine never having to flatten a Photoshop file again! For the first time, use the power of multi-layer PhotoShop images directly within QuarkXPress. Save time by eliminating the need to "flatten" an image to be used in your QuarkXPress document. Multiple versions of the same image can now be conveniently placed in one picture box. Layers can be turned On or Off with a click of the mouse.* Layer settings can be modified for Calculation and Opacity. * Channels can be assigned as spot colors, varnish plates, embossing/die-cut stamps or any other special effect! * Paths can be assigned to be used for Clipping or Text Runaround. All layer blend modes are supported insuring you that your images will be rendered as though you were in Photoshop.ImagePort utilizes a caching method to render preview images seen in your QuarkXPress picture box. This allows for quick previewing of your image when a change is made. You can specify two locations to store ImagePort cache files with a size limit for each. This cache method is very similar to those used by internet browsers.

What's new in this version:

  • Improved overall stability.
  • Added support for multiple languages to the 6.x version.
  • Improved compatibility with other imaging related xtensions (like Full Res Preview).

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2
  • Mac OS X 10.1
  • Mac OS X 10.0

ALAP ImagePort Commentaryhmmmmmm... - Version: 1.4, 12/23/2004 04:22AM PST

harristype what transitman is trying to say is that this feature is a standard feature in InDesign and doesn't need some third party XT to offer it and it works brilliantly in ID. Saving the file file as a TIF flattens the image and places all the elements on to a white background, not very helpful when you want your graphic to merge in with whatever you are placing over the top of in Quark. All in all I think the solution is in what transitman's said.

ALAP ImagePort CommentaryIt's for QuarkXPress, not InDesign - Version: 1.4, 12/22/2004 04:41PM PST

Transit Man: This is not for InDesign. It states in the description that it's for QuarkXPress. But the best solution has already been stated below. Save your layered Photoshop file as a layered TIFF. That's what we do at our magazine.
