Product Description:

Clock And Track is a native Mac OSX shareware application that automates the time tracking and billing functions required by an hourly consultant who typically works with a computer. Major features include:
  • The ability to enter and edit expenses and work session information.
  • A start/pause/stop timer to track working time on the computer for a client and a task.
  • A simple, automatic and customizable report generator based on RTF templates.
  • New: Support for non dollar currency symbols and formats

What's new in this version:

  • A better look thanks to metal buttons provided by a Clock And Track user. Thank you.
  • Improved formatting for time fields that previously required input in minutes. Now you can type 1:20 and the conversion to 80 will be done automatically.
  • Two new preferences to control some of the behavior of the windows. The inspector window can now be configured not to disappear when Clock And Track deactivates. Also the main Stopwatch panel can be configured to float above other application windows.
  • A preference to control the behavior of what to do with a running session when the computer is put to sleep. (A bug was also fixed in this regard.) Note that it takes about 20 seconds or so for a session to appear to resume when the computer is woken up, but no time is lost.
  • A preference to control whether or not sessions and expenses are sorted in reverse chronological or chronological order in the inspector wndow.
  • Mousing over a reconciled session or expense now presents a balloon that indicates which invoice the session or expense was billed.
  • More consistent treatment of adding new clients. Multiple clients may now have the same client name but distinct short names. However you will no longer be able to add a client with the same short name and full client name. If you have archives with such clients you should delete them or rename them before upgrading to this version.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3.9
  • Mac OS X 10.3

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.3 or higher

ClockAndTrack ReviewIt's OK but... - Version: 1.2.0, 12/5/2006 10:02AM PST

I have been using this for the best part of 6 months now.

Annoyingly you can't put the date into the UK dd/mm/yyyy format. You are instead stuck with the US mm/dd/yyyy format, something that I struggle to get my head around. The author has advised that it wont be changed.

The output directory defaults to /tmp when installed. I forgot to change to somewhere sensible and my invoices seem to have disappeared.

I bought this to keep an eye on how much of my day was going to which of my masters, rather than the need to actually invoice anyone, so the app is overkill for me.

Would I send the money again? No, it is over the top for what I need and inflexible in areas such as date which should be flexible. It is simple ti use though.

This does just what I need it to do without bells and whistles and a confusing user interface. It's simple and intuitive, and it prints the details my manager needs to pay me for working at home - it's perfect for keeping track of hours worked, and on which projects.

Clean interface, I've noticed no bugs, and it's definitely worth $30 to me - I turned in 16.5 hours the first pay period I used it.

ClockAndTrack ReviewGreat piece of software. - Version: 1.1.3.2, 11/7/2003 03:07PM PST

I've compared every comparable product out there and this is by far the best value. It has features that I would consider basic, yet many lacked. Things such as manual editing of time information and different tasks under the same client.

The interface is very clean and doesn't get in the way. I haven't tried the invoicing feature, but it appears to be adequate, especially with a customizable template.

The price is more than fair especially when considering that an accurate count of hours would have saved me more than $30 in the past.
