Product Description:

MathMagic Pro Edition is an equation editor mainly for use with Adobe InDesign software in editing any mathematical expressions and symbols with WYSIWYG interface and various powerful features.

What's new in this version:

  • Added: Separate Size fields for Integral symbol with On/Off check box. (Prime Edition only.)
  • Added: Accents now works on Templates.
  • Added: 3 spacing fields added in Define Spacing dialog for Template Accents.
  • Added: Automatic Spacing rule(TeX rule) can be selectively ON or OFF for each Size of Full, Sub/Superscript, Sub-Subscript, Symol, and so on, from Define Size dialog. Personal Edition has some limtation.

  • Changed: Factory setting value for Prime location changed.
  • Changed: Sub box of Integral templates moved a little to the right.
  • Changed: Some other Define Spacing values changed to make equations look better.

  • Fixed: Under/Over integral's main box location was incorrect when a Max. in-between gap value was specified.
  • Fixed: Wrong calculation of a Template + Sub/Superscript combination gap when applying TeX spacing rule.
  • Fixed: Accent at the end of function name caused not to recognize auto function style.
  • Fixed: Bold face of Fraction lines and Under/Over bar lines returned to plain face after saving as EPS.

MathMagic Pro for InDesign ReviewThanks for the fast ^ endless updates - Version: 5.42, 9/21/2006 01:40PM PST

With this update, I found the shaded nesting and bitmapped PICT option very useful.
    Keep the good work.
But I am still looking forward to using InDesign's Swatch list within Math magic's color palette. And the ability to save in PDF directly so that we can use the equations in many OS X native apps.

MathMagic Pro for InDesign ReviewInDesign should handle the inline graphics better to make it work better with tall equations - Version: 5.3, 1/13/2006 09:36AM PST

    hsoft
Other than the slow InDesign, some of InDesign's limitations, like the text engine's not-smart line spacing when having one or more tall objects, sometimes cause tedious work to make the next line not to overlap over the equations.
Is someone has a trick or solution for this?
Other than these InDesign's limitations, we are happy with MathMagic Pro.

Well, MathMagic for Indesing is a bit cheaper than MathMagic pro for QXP, but not accessable for many small offices or freelances.

MathMagic Pro for InDesign Reviewworks great for me - Version: 5.01, 2/7/2005 03:46AM PST

    Jamie here
My clients like MathMagic equations better(than previous MathType equations). There were some fonts that did not return correct Postscript name but I had no problem in general. Their support team told me about those problematic fonts so that i could fix the fonts by myself with FontLab.
In overall, MathMagic saved a lot of time for me and works great.
One more thing I would ask is to support MML sooner or later.
