InDesign should handle the inline graphics better to make it work better with tall equations

Other than the slow InDesign, some of InDesign's limitations, like the text engine's not-smart line spacing when having one or more tall objects, sometimes cause tedious work to make the next line not to overlap over the equations.
Is someone has a trick or solution for this?
Other than these InDesign's limitations, we are happy with MathMagic Pro.
Well, MathMagic for Indesing is a bit cheaper than MathMagic pro for QXP, but not accessable for many small offices or freelances.

works great for me

Jamie here
My clients like MathMagic equations better(than previous MathType equations). There were some fonts that did not return correct Postscript name but I had no problem in general. Their support team told me about those problematic fonts so that i could fix the fonts by myself with FontLab.
In overall, MathMagic saved a lot of time for me and works great.
One more thing I would ask is to support MML sooner or later.

Puts tons of individual fonts into your system font folder; really clutters it up. Discussed with their tech support, but they're apparently unable to rectify. MathType still works well and is a "standard" throughout commercial publishing (kinda of). Latex is still the finest but is a tad too dense for occasional usage.
What about MathType? - Version: 5.0b50, 11/13/2004 06:33AM PST

No-one mentioned Mathtype. I tried MathMagic during MathType's OSX wilderness years, and found a few minor bugs but got excellent support. But Mathtype works fine through the clipboard, has a good TeX translator AND can Save As .eps, which can then be dragged straight into InDesign.

Actually I think potential customers ought to compare this product with MathEQ from LIVEMath. One neat thing it can do is export LaTex "code", another it can be used with any other application, not just InDesign.

Why not just learn TeX? - Version: 4.3, 3/6/2004 09:45AM PST

TeX/LaTeX is free, very easy to learn (easier than HTML), manuals are freely available online, and when you use it in conjunction with Equation Service (also available for free from VT) you can pump out all of the pdf equations you need, then place them into InDesign (no matter the version) and print them with very crisp pdf quality.

Pro is a very vertical market solution targeting just less than 5% of InDesign users. It is not for general users so we hope you understand that our marketing team had to put the price in that range. If you are a designer or editor who does not have any experience with TeX and need to make math books, accounting books, reports, journals, or whatever with huge amount of equations, you can get the ROI within 1 week ~ 1 month normally. Many of our Professional customers around the world save a lot of time with MathMagic. And the regular pricing comes with the Free upgrade service for the next 2 years +. So we think that $300~$695 is reasonable. ..... If you are not a heavy user who don't need to deal with the DTP, you may just use MathMagic Personal Edition or its Academic version which just cost US$29.95 ~ 119.95. The interface and features are similiar. But the price is much accessable for general users. Thank you for your comments and we hope you understand this. ^^

PACE software installs a kernel extension... a rather serious route to go just for the sake of copy protection. Kernel patches are the philosophical equivelent of Extensions in previous incarnations of Mac OS... and we all remember how fun it was to track down extension conflicts. I'd advise anyone that installs the demo to remove it if you start having other machine problems.

Keep the good work.
But I am still looking forward to using InDesign's Swatch list within Math magic's color palette. And the ability to save in PDF directly so that we can use the equations in many OS X native apps.
