TintinYahtzee ReviewSome stability issues.... - Version: 1.0.1, 1/15/2004 12:13AM PST

Lover of Freeware
I've been playing Tintin Yahtzee for quite a while now, and I really enjoy the game. It is much more attractive IMHO than the other Yahtzee games out there. I've had problems with it unexpectedly quitting, though, every three new games. I've tried trashing preferences, and other workarounds, and it doesn't seem to fix it.

Also, in Panther I've noticed that it seems to have lost the ability to replace a score. Bummer.

A lot of people have complained that it doesn't use American Yahtzee rules, but I think that after playing Tintin, I prefer the way that it is played to the American version.

TintinYahtzee ReviewGreat idea; scoring needs work - Version: 1.0.1, 12/5/2003 11:27PM PST

I, too, was captivated by the idea of combining the Tintin characters and Yahtzee. The game interface is very good; however, the scoring routines need tweaking. I rolled a small straight of 2,3,4,5, yet was not allowed to score it in the small straight column. If the scoring is fixed, this becomes my Yahtzee game. Until then, I will stay with Yahtzee X.

TintinYahtzee ReviewDelightful except for scoring - Version: 1.0.1, 11/15/2003 08:09PM PST

Charming! I grew up with Tintin and Yahtzee, but it never entered my mind to blend the two. As others have noted, the scoring is not as you would expect. I would think it would be a no brainer to provide an option for Hasbro rules vs. Swedish rules, which is really the only gripe I have. A networked version would be very cool, and I would even pay a few bucks if the problems are ironed out.
