The "Drop a folder on that pool to paste the last copied icon to every folder it contains" feature is not working properly and paste the folder's icon also on files within the folders on many occasions. iMac Intel 10.5.6

On Mac OS X I've most liked 'Can Combine Icons' among the icon creation apps. But until now you'd have to buy IconBuilder for Photoshop to get all the icon making abilities from now defunct Mac OS 9 icon apps. Meanwhile, IconBuilder has fallen behind the times and is no longer worth consideration on Intel Macs.
Helping out someone look for a Leopard compatible icon creation app I found and tried out Viou. At last, all the features I want! On Mac OS X! For FREE!
But note that this is a BETA release. There is no documentation as of yet and there is only hot help. There are only some minimal instructions in the ReadMe. Nonetheless this is an easy application to use, very intuitive for those used to 'Can Combine Icons'.
Does it make 512 x 512 pixel icons for Leopard? This is not clear. The only indication is that this version has been "optimised for V10.5 (Leopard)" according to the somewhat out-of-date ReadMe.
Feature Set: Rotation, Size, Transparency, Overlap (apparently not yet activated), Shearing 'Flattens' distortion effects in the X and Y dimensions (which I luv), excellent Models for icon backgrounds with several including alternative versions, the ability to drop in your Logo, a useful set of cleanup tools, icon dragging, excellent Shadow effects,
Bugs: Some sloppy graphical oddities show up when using the sliders. The Tools and Shadow drawer overlap each other. Some of the background Models are messed up (example: Sugar Pill) can cause artifacts in the final icon. The Application drop zone doesn't work, use the Pict drop zone instead. I have yet to figure out how to get the open folder alternate icon to work.
All told, this needs work, as you'd expect from a beta. But it deserves a good rating for all the effort made so far.
