Product Description:

SilverFast DC enables fast and efficient optimization of all non-compressed RGB-Tiff-Data from the hard disk. Instead of generating a prescan, a file is loaded from the hard disk. Images from digital cameras (low- and midrange) will especially benefit from SilverFast's LAB-Unsharp masking, which does not sharpen the color noise of single channels, but instead only sharpens the image's edges effectively. Since all steps of processing can be monitored on the preview, the final processing is more or less one operation. Loss in quality due to repeated processing can be kept minimal. SilverFast DC contains all the known features of SilverFast for professional image optimization through an intuitive and flexible user interface giving the user full control at one glance! SilverFast DC can also be upgraded with SilverFast JobManagement. This allows you to batch correct many images on the fly, and much more.

What's new in this version:

The latest version of SilverFast DC utilizes the new Virtual Light Table (VLT). VLT provides an efficient and effective way to organize images for processing. Images in different file directories can be viewed in the upper overview section using variable-sized thumbnails. The desired images can then be dragged and organized into a user-defined Album section. Images can be viewed using the magnifier located on the VLT. At any time, images from the Album can be corrected individually in the SilverFast Preview Section or batch processed in the SilverFast Job Manager. VLT also incorporates critical image management features including album creation, thumbnail sorting, file searching, EXIF preview, and comment annotation. New printing features in VLT permit printing of contact sheets as well as single high-resolution images.

SilverFast DC utilizes special camera features such as Color Temperature adjustment, Exposure Control. The new Red-Eye Tool in SilverFast DC not only detects the red eye regions, but also permits the user to adjust the output density to make the corrected eyes appear more natural.

It reads very clear in the specs that: SilverFast DC-VLT is for 24 for bit data One day ago we have published on Version Tracker: SilverFast DCPro which is for RAW data! All this information is clearly readable on our web site and in the description published on VersionTracker. I am amazed that SilverFast still offers no RAW file support. My images all come up as white icons with red circles in them. Pro's and advanced amateurs are using RAW files more and more these days and Silverfast must get their act together if they want to stay in business. This program even though quite lovely if you are using jpegs or tiffs is totally useless for photographers who are now using RAW files as their primary capture and storage format.
