Product Description:

An utility which helps you to utilize and configure the TFTP server shipped with the standard Mac OSX distribution.

Using this application you can start/stop the TFTP service on your Mac and change its working path, that's where the files are sent to and received from by any TFTP client (e.g. a Cisco router or switch). In addition, other features are available to help you to seamlessy send and receive files from any TFTP enabled device to a Macintosh acting as TFTP server.

This is useful if you have a lot of network devices and want to store in a safe place all their configuration files and operating system binary images. These files can be reused later (or modified using a text editor on your Mac) to easily configure from scratch other similar devices or update their system image files.

What's new in this version:

  • The primary IP address of your Mac is showed in the TftpServer main window
  • Added two toolbar buttons which put in the clipboard the Cisco IOS command that will copy the startup-config to/from tftp, with the IP of your Mac and the name of the selected file already filled in (these buttons are not part of the default toolbar, so you have to customize the TftpServer toolbar if you want to use them)
  • The name of the file actually selected in the working path's file listing is copied to the clipboard with the usual [Cmd]-C keys
  • Type-ahead selection is now active in the TftpServer file listing view: if you have a lot of files in the TFTP folder just type the start of its name and it will be automatically selected, just like you do in the Finder

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.3.9
  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2 or later

TftpServer Commentary3.3.1 Release Notes - Version: 3.3.1, 9/10/2009 12:26PM PST

libertyforall1776
From Fabrizio La Rosa:
- Now compatible with Snow Leopard
- The TFTP service is now started in secure mode (-s) to chroot tftpd to its working folder
- Tiger and Leopard used to set up the tftpd service in insecure mode (-i), so TftpServer fixes the tftpd configuration file to start the service in secure mode
- Removed the Console Log from the log section, it was no longer useful since Tiger
- More accurate checking of the tftpd status, now TftpServer checks if the service is actually running instead of just checking if it was set to launch on boot
