to modify this application to increase depth in a series of images of the same subject taken at slightly different focus? For example, in macrophotography where any single image tends to have a very narrow depth of field.

maybe you can extend the program to where it can auto guide telescopes for astrophotography. As far as I can tell there are no OS X programs that do this. this would open up new possibilities on the Mac.

As an addendum, a model of the kind of tool I have (possibly long-term) hopes for is one like Canopus, , which is a Windows program. There's nothing like it available for Mac OS X as far as I know (though there may be X-applications; I haven't pursued that yet.)

Kagi since they charge a fee and I don't actually get my full asking price as a result, plus they only pay me after my account sums over $50, which is pretty irritating for a slow-paying product like this. I really prefer paypal to be honest, it's so simple, but I will try to get the kagi account set up as well. I'll look into the asteroid/comet stuff at some point if I get a chance. Thanks for the recommendation.

REALLY fantastic if you added the tools to not only align, but also flicker images so the program can be used as a tool for asteroid and comet identification as well. (And get that Kagi account set up!)
