Bye Bye MS Internet Explorer !

Thank you for your freeware software “MisFox”
I can now finally remove MS Internet Explorer from the corporate Macs. I retained MS Internet Explorer application because it could do what “MisFox” now does via it’s preference settings.

Also make sure to compare this to RCDefaultApp 2.0.1 --

Too soon to telll which one is better. Sort of sad that Apple continues to not make any effort to include this kind of software as an easy-to-access, easy-to-understand, inherent part of the OS.

can't change file mapping - Version: 1.2.1, 1/3/2005 07:09AM PST

Not sure why, but when I select a new app in the dialog box and click open, the box dismisses OK but the app is not changed in the file mapping panel. 10.3.6.
Just what I needed

This is a great little application. It does a few things and does them very well. It's much more convenient than opening MSIE. Firefox can do some editing, but not much.
Essential Utility

OK, sure, you can do the same inside of IE's preferences, but who wants to keep that horrific app around other than for site testing? :)
Great tool, does what it says, and does it cleanly. A little more polish (icons, resizable windows, a search box for narrowing down File Mappings, slightly more clear File Mapping settings descriptions) would take it to 5 stars.

Nice to see this app is still evolving. The ability to set new default apps without running the original apps (on Panther; what logic is that, Apple?) is much appreciated. A few suggestions:
* A way to modify Safari's list of "safe" files for opening after download(!) Where *is* that list anyway?
* Export File Mappings to human-readable-format file?
* Resizable window with sticky column settings.
* An icon? :-)

Good for mapping things as simple as an FTP client to settings for download helpers. Has no OSX counterpart I'm aware of unless you want to go in and edit the .plist with BBEdit or something (not recommended as it's easy to corrupt the internetconfig.plist file). iCab folks have done a nice job with this. Could use a little GUI work but 5 stars in my book.
